Why We Want to Give Away $50k this Christmas

by Spence Shelton

This Sunday, December 17th, Mercy Church will begin giving our yearly Christmas Missions Offering. Each year, in this season of gift giving, the people of Mercy commit to give our best gift to God’s mission. 100% of this offering will go straight outside the walls of Mercy Church and into the advancement of God’s kingdom throughout our city, country, and world. Here’s where our resources will be going this year:

Our City

God has given us some incredible partners in ministry right here in Charlotte. The Christmas Missions Offering allows us to fund our efforts at local schools and organizations, like One7 Academy, Charlotte Dream Center, Pregnancy Resource Center, and our Serve Week initiatives.

Our Country

We believe the best way to bring the gospel to a community is by planting and developing healthy local churches. In the past two years, the Christmas Missions Offering has enabled Mercy to help plant churches in Los Angeles and Atlanta and to revitalize a church in Brooklyn, NY. Because of your generosity, this year we are helping plant a church in Washington, D.C.

Our World

Embedded into the core of who we are as a church is our desire to see all nations come to know and worship Jesus. Through the Christmas Missions Offering, we are able to help fund church planting efforts among people groups in strategic cities around the world. In 2018, we are excited to be working with church planters in Central America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

We are praying that the Mercy family would give $50,000 to the Christmas Missions Offering this year. We want to give our best gift this Christmas to sending the message of Christ around the world. We hope you will be a part of giving to God’s mission this Christmas.

May God bless the giving of our resources as we seek to steward them for the glory of his name and the advancement of his kingdom!
