what is residency?

This program is for those who believe God is calling them into full-time ministry or church planting, as well as those who believe they will be involved in some form of Christian vocational work in the future. The Residency Program application is open from July – December.  Mercy Church and Reliant staff will then prayerfully evaluate the merits of each application. Following the evaluation, the applicant will be notified whether or not they have been accepted into the Residency Program. As a church, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to train men and women for Christian ministry and view it as a great privilege and responsibility.

Deadline for Application: January 28 (References & background check required)
Local Interviews Deadline: February 11
Support-Raising Training Registration Deadline: February 28
Support-Raising Training: February 24-25 (Charlotte, NC)
Start Date: August 1

As a church, we are committed to helping future leaders flourish in vocational gospel ministry by developing character, cultivation of competency, and discernment of calling.

Residents will be provided with valuable ministry experience and leadership training. Participation will give Residents greater presence and responsibility in Mercy ministry. Participation will strengthen resume-building as they pursue vocational ministry. The Residency may fulfill some educational requirements for seminary.
