Serving in response to the gospel

Christ has called every believer to give their life to him and his mission (Matt. 16:24, Matt. 28:19). We take that call seriously, and consider it a joy to offer up the gifts that God has given us to worship him and build his kingdom. The gospel has changed everything; it has declared that the the last will be first, that the way up is down, and that the way to gain everything in Christ is to lose everything for Christ. So we seek to do just that – to joyfully give our lives in response to the life that Jesus gave for us, and the life he has now given to us.

Mercy Creative

Mercy Creative seeks to celebrate the gospel of Jesus, wonder at the glory of God, and exhort Mercy Church to respond in worship of the one true God. It is comprised of our Band, Audio/Visual, and Multimedia teams. The Band offers Mercy Church a vehicle for worship by leading through music. The Audio/Visual team ensures the logistical quality of our worship services and events through audio engineering and mixing, as well as the control of visual media and lighting. The Multimedia team documents God’s faithfulness to our church through photo and video for current and future storytelling.

Mercy Online

Each week, people tune into Mercy’s online service at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings! Serving roles in this virtual space include being a chat host, praying with people on the spot, and facilitating conversation in the chat with other Mercy attendees and members.

Mercy College

We believe college students are the most moldable, trainable, and sendable population. We seek to encourage, equip, and exhort our students to make disciples who make disciples, to play a major role in our vision to see a gospel awakening in the city of Charlotte that’s carried to the ends of the earth. If you’d be interested in serving our college students, there are a few roles available.

– Host Families for City Project (summer only)
– Host Homes (hosting students for dinners 2-3 times/semester)
– Informal Mentors (ongoing)

Community Outreach

The Community Outreach team seeks to engage the marginalized members of society with the gospel by meeting both physical and spiritual needs. We believe that God is glorified when we build relationships and serve the hurting community around us.  Those who serve on this team will work alongside different ministry partners in differing capacities, but in each partnership, we will seek to build lasting relationships for gospel influence.

Mercy Equip

Mercy Equip seeks to provide practical training for gospel living. As people grow in their faith and walk with Jesus, we want to equip them for every good work and help them to live out the gospel in everyday life.

Mercy Missions

Mercy Church is committed to sending God’s people to all people. The church has been called to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20) so we will be a part of sending and equipping gospel workers until all have heard the name of Jesus. There are two primary avenues for being part of the missions team:

DMTs: A Disciple-Making Team is a 10-week group devoted to prayer with one another and evangelism. For the 10 weeks, you will study through the book Spiritual Multiplication in the Real World and learn how to make disciples who make disciples in your everyday life.

Missionary Care Teams: We don’t want those who go to the mission field to be forgotten. This team is the primary point of contact with missionaries to make sure they are being prayed for and remembered by the members of Mercy.

Member Care

The Member Care Ministry Team seeks to walk alongside those members of Mercy Church who are experiencing a time of need. Members who serve on this team will either begin on the prayer team or the support team, with opportunities for training and equipping for the crisis team.

Details: Time Commitment – (Prayer Team) Sunday morning prayer twice a month along with mid-week prayer groups at your availability; (Member Support Team) Time commitments may vary depending on the task that needs to be completed.
