Mercy Family,
The past year God has blessed our church with more people and many new believers, all of whom we thank God for. A short while ago we realized we would need to expand our pastoral team in order to help shepherd the people God is bringing to us.
Our elders and our staff team have been praying for God to lead us towards someone who brings a different background and different skill set to our team than what we already have. We were praying for someone who shares Mercy’s values and vision as well. On a personal note I’ve been so thankful for the conversations with several of you who’ve spoken into this process!
I am excited to announce Rashard Barnes will be joining the Mercy Church team as connections pastor! Rashard served as the college ministry pastor of Redeemer Church in Lubbock Texas for the past 6 years and most recently served as the pastor for all discipleship at Redeemer. Rashard and his wife Meghan have two young children.
As the connections pastor of Mercy Church, Rashard will be providing support to our guest services teams and will be overseeing the connection process for those God is bringing to Mercy Church. They will be moving in the coming weeks and once they are here we will have the opportunity to more formally introduce him to Mercy Church.
