Local OutreachTo see a gospel awakening in the city of Charlotte that is carried to the ends of the earth
The Local Outreach Ministry at Mercy Church exists to send disciples to display the gospel to the marginalized communities of our city. Serving alongside like-minded partner organizations, we seek to love others as Jesus loves us.

Local Outreach Teams
Our teams seek out opportunities to spend time with our homeless neighbors in the Charlotte area by serving in shelters, sharing meals, and working with service providers to find jobs and housing. As we walk with them in pursuit of physical housing, we have a natural opportunity to tell them about the finished work of Jesus that secured an eternal home for them.
We desire to aid and encourage the church to provide Gospel-driven care for orphans and families through prayer, resources, and support. Our hope is to see families and individuals catalyzed to respond to the gospel by caring for orphans through adoption, foster care, child advocacy, and mentorship.
No one is more vulnerable in our society than the unborn. We want to stand for the unborn and care for the mothers and fathers of an unexpected pregnancy. Together with several like-minded pregnancy resource centers in Charlotte, our members offer a wide variety of care and support for families of the unborn.
Here in Charlotte, God has graciously brought the nations to our backyard. Our refugee ministry seeks to help people resettle in the States by befriending them, helping them learn a new culture, and assisting them as they build a new life here. This is done through partnerships that actively engage in ESL, mentoring, and student and housing ministries.
Our mission is to show Christ’s love to those affected by trafficking by enabling the church to pray, partner, and educate. We partner with ministries that serve weekly in high trafficked areas and also to the families. We seek to mirror God’s light into the darkness that is human trafficking.
Many young people in our community live disconnected from a community of caring adults, so our teams look for ways to walk with struggling youth and their families through the challenging circumstances of life. We partner with schools in the Greater Charlotte area to mentor, help with facilities upkeep, and assist teachers in the classrooms.
The City Fund
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. (Jeremiah 29:7)
Due to the incredible generosity of our people to our Christmas Missions Offering, The City Fund was created to mobilize our church to engage in the mission of God in Charlotte. Inspired by God’s words in Jeremiah 29:7, the Lord has called us to send disciples to display and proclaim the gospel to the marginalized communities of our city. As we seek the welfare of Charlotte, we believe an awakening of the gospel can be carried to the ends of the earth.
