Kid’s Week

 In Family Ministries

Hey Mercy Family!

Kid’s Week is coming up and we cannot wait! We have some really exciting things planned for our kids, from Bible study, to arts and crafts, to missions, to rec time. It’s going to be an awesome week! Already, more than 50 kids have signed up to join us. That’s over 50 kids who are going to hear the gospel, and they are going to hear it loud and clear! Praise God!

For those who haven’t heard yet, here are the details for the week:

Who? | Kids 3 years and potty-trained through 5th grade

What? | Kid’s Week is an exciting, fun way for kids to learn about the God who made them.

When? | July 31-August 3, 9am-12pm

Where? | Idlewild Baptist Church, 12701 Idlewild Road, Matthews, North Carolina 28105

As a staff and Kid’s Team, we have been praying for 100 kids to hear the gospel. Yes, that’s right. 100 kids! Our hope is that Kid’s Week will be used as an evangelism tool for you to invite your unchurched friends, family, and neighbors to hear the gospel.

We have already been so encouraged to hear the stories flowing in of how many of you are already inviting. Just yesterday, I heard of one of our kids (yes, one of our kids!) inviting one of their neighbors to join them. And they said yes! Absolutely incredible!

For most of us, though, the hardest part of inviting is starting the conversation. So, we thought we’d give you a few conversation starters to get your mind flowing and hopefully get you comfortable sharing with friends, family, and neighbors about Kid’s Week:

  1. Hey! My kids are going to a Kid’s Week with Mercy Church, and I thought your kids might enjoy going, too. It’s July 31-August 3, 9am-12pm. Want to join us?….This is what they will be doing…

  2. Hello (insert friendly neighbor’s name)! My church is doing a Kid’s Week in a couple weeks and I thought it might be something your kids would be interested in doing. Here’s all the info…

  3. Hi! I’m serving at my church’s Kid’s Week, and man is it going to be awesome! I wanted to give you some information because I think (insert child’s names) would really enjoy going to it.

These are just a few ways to get the word out about Kid’s Week. There are so many others, like posting a picture to social media, leaving an inviter card on a bulletin board, or texting your friends with all the details! Don’t forget, Mercy, “awkward conversations change people’s eternity.”

If you are interested in serving as a Team Member during Kid’s Week or need to sign your kids up, we’d love for you to join us! You can go here to learn more. If there is anything I can do to serve you personally, please message me at

I cannot wait to see what God does through Kid’s Week!
